More Nanowrimo Fun with Characters :D

Well hello again!
Guess what? This is my third blog post in a row!!! *Blows in trumpet*
I thought, since Nanowrimo is like 24 hours away I would go a head and add some of my other characters to my blog for your reading delight.
Blyr
This is probably one of my most favorite of my characters. Blyr is pretty awesome, he is a mutt of a gnome and a goblin, he had to drink blood to survive (Kind of like a vampire, but cooler). He is the leader of the Gnobblin tribe, and they pretty much go around and kidnap people and sell them as slaves. He's not really a good guy, but he does some helpful things in the first book that doesn't quite make him a bad guy either.

Otto
This is Iz' best friend growing up. I really didn't write him well in the first book and I have to redo all of his scenes and personality and ect. Yuck. Not fun, but that's what I get for taking, "It doesn't matter how messy your novel is!" too literally.

The Serpent Sisters
They play a big important role in my upcoming book. The only problem is, I dont know what yet! They are exiled fairies that live in the deep part of the woods, where the ground is pretty much a swamp.

Nameless
She is the hardcore chick that can kill everything, be sassy and pretty much a beast. I dont know much about her yet either. I'm kind of waiting for Iz to cross paths with her sometime along the road.

This list doesn't exactly conclude my list of characters in my books. I have several more of them, both in existence and on the drawling board. If you cant tell yet, I am super excited for Nanowrimo to be starting up tomorrow!!! Like, seriously. I just dont think I can contain myself. After work tomorrow I'm going to get myself some writing goodies to help me out this coming month. I'm thinking lots of caffeine! Muahahaahaha!
Happy Halloween!
And Happy Noveling!

Well I wasn't going to post this, buuuut....

Halloween.
This one word has the power to make people's stomachs grumble for candy.
Our noses to smell that new costume smell. Yes. It exists.
The desire to get pumpkin guts all over ourselves.
And the need to go ring the doorbells of all your neighbors asking for candy.
But. This word also has the power to put the fire of God in the pit of several Christian's stomachs.
This is by far one of the most controversial holidays on the face of the earth.
Why?
Now, I know what your thinking, "Oh, Didymus, your going to go off on a rant about Halloween, arent' you"
NO
I will not.
However, I would like to share why I do celebrate it.
1) It is apart of our American culture.
Now, many of you are about to tell me how it originated in Europe, and it was a pagan celebration, and it has everything to do with witchcraft. Yes. You are right. BUT. Your also wrong.
When the Irish came to America during the Potato Famine, they brought Halloween with them.
Then the Americans at that time, did what Americans do best.
JUNK FOOD AND BEING SILLY!!!
They totally adapted Halloween to be just a massive dressup party and to get candy.
Nobody actually believes in evil spirit protection when the dress up as "Glamour Witch" or "Scary Ghost".
Halloween for us today is a commercial event to promote candy.
And plus, if there are people out their who do believe in the evil spirit protection, they are usually the ones who dress like its Halloween every day. Nuff Said.
2) I celebrate Halloween because I'm an imaginative person who loves to dress up crazy.
3) And because I dont take it seriously. I'm in it for the candy and to dress up.
So, there you are.
I will respect your decision not to celebrate Halloween, just as long as you respect mine to celebrate.
I do have one last parting note for you.
If you get upset that people celebrate Halloween because its of the devil, why dont your get upset when Christmas and Easter roll around? They are the most commercialized holidays in existence, yet they are supposed to celebrated to honor Jesus and his victory for us.
If your going to boycott the candycorn, shouldn't your also toss out Santa Clause and the Easter eggs?
If your going to actually celebrate holidays for their true meaning (Or not celebrate because of that), dont give Xmas and Easter a double standard.
Happy Halloween!!!

Beautiful People

Hey everyone!
So, I love this time of year. Like seriously, the last month of October, hands down, is the best ever!
The weather finally calms down and cools off, we get a little rain, cold night, fuzzy blankets and lots of coffee. Everyone is getting ready for Halloween, and the more creative of us are getting ready for Nanowrimo. School starts to relax a little too, you know right before it freaks out for Finals. And the winter shopping season begins!
The last week of October, I'm telling you, is the bomb.com!
Now, as I was moseying around the blogging world I discovered this thing called Beautiful People. And basically, what it is, is a questionnaire that you get to answer as a blog post about your book, your characters, your writing life in general! I was informed of this by my lovely Nanowrimo buddy, Lauriloth. You can check out her amazing blog by clicking the link.
Anyway, not wanting to be left out, I have decided to do the Nanowrimo edition of Beautiful People!
So, here it is:
1. Sum up your novel in five words or less.Garden Gnome saving fairy princess
2. Novel title?
Gnome Gnovel Part 2

3. Sum up your main character(s) in one word each.
Iz: Brave, Lorilli:Crazy, Luthin:Noble, Lythar: Tainted

4. Advice for newbies in three words?
Dont Edit, WRITE!

5. Tell us about your secondary characters, how do they affect the story?
My secondary characters are my most favorite! They add all the seasonings to my book, they are the obnoxious colored markers to my drawling and the light of my story. They are my tools, my friends and the people that I wish I could be. They are funny, sad, crazy, silly and down right evil.

6. Do you plan to stay up till midnight on the 31st?
Well, I will probably work that night till 11...then I'll get home, shower, and the countdown will begin!

7. How many years have you done NaNo?
This is my second year doing Nano. Last year I won with Gnome Gnovel Part 1. I had a blast, and am super excited to be doing it again!

8. What came first, characters, or plot idea?
Characters, most definitely. I create plots around my characters.

9. How much prep do you do before November?
Prep...hmmmm. Well I try to get a general idea as to where I want the story to go, write out my map and make sure my characters are all lined up. But other than that, I am more creative and I have a better time writing if its all a surprise to me how things turn out.

10. Now be honest, how do you really feel about NaNo?
I am scared that I'm not going to win this year. Between school, work and social activities, I'm worried I wont have enough time to put all my effort into it. But, I'm staying positive!!!

Have a great weekend guys!

Muse of a Kounty Gentleman

What what what?!!?
Hey everybody! And do I have some exciting news for you!
FAMILY FORCE 5 HAS A NEW ALBUM OUT!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!
*Takes a deep breath*
Yes! This new album is called III (Or 3 for my roman numeral challenged friends out there)
Oddly enough, even though I absolutely adore FF5, I have a weird hate/love relationship with this album. Like its good. But I really dont think it sounds like the FF5 I grew up with.
Anyway!
I though I would get on and write about my favorite songs on this CD of awesomness!
1)Not Alone; This a really chill, beautiful song about how God is always with you, even if you cant see Him, he's always there. (Going on my writing playlist.)
2) Tank Top; This is just one of their very odd, groovy songs that really dont have a point. It's pretty hood and very good mood music.
3)Mamasita; Hahahaha! This a funny love song! It's very Hispanic and Latin and tacolisious. It's really funny. My favorite part is: "Oh Mamasita! My seniorita! Nothing could be sweeta we cross the boarder, you and I"
4)You got It: Another love song, it's pretty hip and groovy and things like that. You know Ghostride the Whip? Yea, the vocals are very similar.
5)Paycheck: I good loud bass song about being the crappy economy with an underlying message about how we aren't good enough and need Jesus.
There are a could other songs, that I dont really care for. SO I'm not going to talk about them! HA! Who said I had to be unbiast? Muahahaha
Peace Out Guys!

Bad Guys! Duhn Duhn Duhhhhhn!!!

Hey whats up!?
Well if you haven't already guessed, this post is going to be about the villains in my book.
Now, I have several different categories that my villains will fall under. Rivals, Obstacles, Bad Guys and the Villain. This mostly has occurred because my MC, Iz, has problems getting along with people, and like most people with this social condition, he tends to make many enemies. Now, I will be listing all of the villains from my first book, and then go on to the newly added ones I've given mental birth to.
RIVALS!!!
Brandel:
This little booger is the son of a Noble family in Kioata, he is a rebel. Brandel got his start with street fighting and sleeping around with higher ranking people. He first clashed with Iz, when Iz and friends found him beating a Mutt (More on this later) outside of the city gates, and Iz' girlfriend challenged him to a duel. The two of them then were assigned to the same team that escorted Lorilli.

Klyfe:
He is the Headmaster of the Royal Arms Academy. He is Iz' abusive uncle. He adopted Iz after his brother and sister-in-law died in a goblin raid. He and Iz have clashed all of Iz' childhood.

OBSTACLES:
These are just generally bad people who aren't on a specific mission to stop Iz, but they are definitely bad people who get in the way.
Captain Nara:
He is the captain of the pirate ship, The Black Heartstring. He is a ruthless pirate who's business in piraty things like human trafficking, pillaging, sailing and drinking rum.

Alena:
She is a powerful water nymph who lives in the Grey Lake. She is known for popping up on the decks of ships, trying to seduce men into the water, where she kills them and then lays her eggs inside the corpses.

Malina:
An earth spirit who lives in the Parallel Forest. She is extremely hard to defeat, because she can possess things of nature to do her bidding. She is kinda hard core.
BAD GUYS
Warg:
This is the goblin general. He is basically the face of evil for the gnomes in my book. He is in charge of pillaging, plundering, raiding and killing massive amount of people all while using his classy British accent and sipping tea.

Xalden:
This is the Goblin King. He's really only just a figure head for the goblins to rally under (Cuz you know, dragon are a bit scary). While he does coordinate this war he started, he really does have a heart for his people and is a pretty decent ruler.

*New Character Alerts!*
Aniv-dra
She is a double agent for the Great Dragon. More on her later.

Xavier
The nephew of Warg, more on him later.

Nacstha
Princess of the Goblins

Iker
Prince of the Goblins
The Villain!
The Great Dragon Bane
I will write a hole blog post about him in the near future, because there is so much to tell.
However, here is a sneak peek to his human form. (Yes, he can change his form at will).

And there you are, my bad guys! Now the next post I have changed my mind about. I have several people in my book that play big roles, but their really not good guys or bad guys. So, the next post will be about them. As usual, I am not talented enough to draw my own images, so I just went to Deviant Art and grabbed these. They are not mine, nor did I draw them, they are of the creation of others more gifted than I, and I thank them. I will probably go through and refind all the artist and dedicate a post to them in the future as well. I just got to find them first...
Stay crazy!

Intro Numba 1!!!

Hello ya'll!
Well just as I promised, here is my first introduction to my character's in current fantasy series, "The Story of Iz"...yes, the title needs some work...
BUT here is my four main characters in the second instalment that I will be writing in November as a part of Nanowrimo.
NOTE: I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE PICTURES, NOR DID I CREATE THESE CHARACTERS IN THE PICTURE. THESE ARE MERELY REPRESENTATIONS OF MY CHARACTERS.
Iz:
This is my Main Character. He grew up as an orphan in his abusive, controlling Uncle's house. He is a graduate of the Royal Arms Academy in the military district of Kioata, the capitol of the gnome kingdom. In the previous story he, along with six others were sent on a mission to protect the Princess Lorilli as she traveled across the kingdom to her home land. Many things happened on this mission, and it ultimately failed as a result of the goblin general, Warg, killing Iz' comrades and kidnapping the princess to take back to the great dragon, Bane.
Princess Lorilli:
She is the rebellious daughter of the Queen Annilia. She is the guardian of the Scepter of Light, the last of the magical artifacts from the Dark Ages. In Book 1 she is send back to her home country of the fairies by her mother, for both protection and to prevent her from destroying Annilia's political career.
Luthin:
He is a great warrior from his village, who was summoned by the Queen to take part in the mission to protect Lorilli on her journey. He is one of the only members who survived the mission. He is takes himself way to seriously, and is loyal to the core. After he is reunited with Iz at the end of Book 1, he is the first to suggest they save the princess.
Ella:
She is the young, goblin healer what was held prisoner on the pirate ship, The Black Heartstring. He assisted Iz in his recovery and plan of escape. Iz became her protector once they killed the pirate captain Nara and sunk his ship. She is a skilled fighter and is always willing to look on the bright side of life.

Well there you have it! These are the four main characters for my NanoNovel! I'm super excited for November and just as equily excited to watch my characters grow, learn, fall in love and get into all sorts of trouble! It's going to be a fun ride!
My next post will be on my villians in the book!
Then I'll have the "Adult Figures"
And finally it will be all the new characters that I'm intoducing.
